The most family friendly and richest freshwater fishing event in Queensland is back once again with three days of non-stop action! Hosted at picturesque Lake Moondarra, 15 kilometres North of Mount Isa the 2012 Xstrata Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic promises a weekend jam packed with fun and excitement for all tastes and age groups.
The activities of the 2012 Xstrata Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic will kick off on the evening of Thursday October 25th with the inaugural special guest slide show at the Buffs Club with Scott Hillier, followed by all the action at the Lake from 12 noon Friday 26th and fishing action from 6pm Friday 26th. The weekend wraps up on Sunday 28th with the awards presentation complete with special guest appearances, great food, bar facilities, entertainment and the drawing of the Mount Isa Fish Stocking Groups 2012 Boat Raffle.
Hosted by the Mount Isa Fish Stocking Group the Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic raises funds for the Mount Isa Fish Stocking Group’s fish re-stocking efforts and angler education in the region.
Packed into the three days the 2012 Fishing Classic will showcase some all new activities, special guests, a record prize pool, including a whopping $50,000 up for grabs for the lucky angler who snags the Mount Isa Water Board Tagged Barra, over 30 prize categories and all the much loved favourites such as:
- The Industrea Mining Services Fireworks Spectacular
- The Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce Dragon Boat Regatta
- Beach volleyball
- Yabby races
- Casting competitions
- Specialty entertainment
- Live bands
- Activities for the kids, including jumping castles
