The most family friendly and richest freshwater fishing event in Queensland is back once again with three days of non-stop action! Hosted at picturesque Lake Moondarra, 15 kilometres North of Mount Isa the annual Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic promises a weekend jam packed with fun and excitement for all tastes. 

Hosted by the Mount Isa Fish Stocking Group the Fishing Classic raises funds for re-stocking local impoundments for recreational and environmental purposes. 

The activities of the 2013 Xstrata Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic will take place over the weekend of October 25th-27th, with fishing and entertainment action commencing at 6pm Friday at Lake Moondarra. 

Packed into the three days the 2013 Fishing Classic will boast a record prize pool, including a whopping $50,000 up for grabs for the lucky angler who snags the Tagged Barra and over 30 prize categories; along with an enormous line up of entertainment including:

• A Fireworks Spectacular
• The Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce DIY Dragon Boat Regatta
• A hotly contested Buffs Club Beach Volleyball Competition
• The Yamaha Suoertank shows with thanks to Pirtek
• Yabby races
• Casting competitions
• Live bands
• Activities for the kids, including jumping castles
